NY NOW, the modern wholesale market for retailers and specialty buyers seeking diversity and discovery, has announced a partnership with New York-based interior designer Brad Ford.
As Creative Director, a newly created role, Ford will work in tandem with the NY NOW team to identify and showcase leading themes in the gift and home industry and participate in the creation of an enhanced and safe environment for upcoming NY NOW market events. This partnership is the first step in NY NOW’s plans to renew its biannual market and deliver a more considered and thoughtful experience to its community.
“The NY NOW team is so excited to announce our partnership with Brad Ford. The pandemic has changed our community of small businesses forever. But in change we see opportunity – and that opportunity for us is to refresh and even reinvent our market. As NY NOW’s Creative Director, Brad will play a leading role as we break new ground and re-think the experience we offer our community,” said Tim Hart, SVP, NY NOW. “His reputation and achievements—whether with Field + Supply, as a renowned interior designer, or with the FAIR showroom at the New York Design Center—speak for themselves. Further, Brad’s focus on quality craftsmanship and sustainable design as part of an accessible product mix is the perfect fit with the diversity and range on offer at NY NOW.”
A vocal champion of independent artisans and makers with an emphasis on well-crafted goods, Ford has a history of creating space and opportunity for designers throughout his 25+ year career. In addition to his own design studio, which focuses on majestic residential spaces, Ford continues to operate Field + Supply, a modern makers fair and online retailer that celebrates the Hudson Valley’s talented craftspeople; as well as FAIR, a showroom in the New York Design Center that serves as a destination for designers seeking elevated and high-end design and craft while providing a foothold for emerging and celebrated artists.
With a highly edited vision and inherently modern yet warm aesthetic, Ford looks forward to curating an inclusive market experience that fosters an environment for discovery, education, and networking.
“I am thrilled and honored to be joining the NY NOW team as Creative Director during this pivotal moment for the design and small business community. As a long-time supporter of artisans and designers, I’m excited to find new and innovative ways to spotlight their latest creative visions,” says Ford. “This past year has proven to be difficult for all, and I look forward to creating a safe and inclusive environment and experience that inspires and generates commerce.”
The next NY NOW market will be held on August 8 - 11, 2021 at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC.
