Online boxed bed retailer GhostBed has announced it is preparing to introduce a five-model mattress program targeted specifically at brick-and-mortar retailers at the upcoming Las Vegas Market. It will be GhostBed’s first wholesale line since the brand was launched by parent company Nature’s Sleep in 2015.
The new line-up will range in price from $799 to $3,999 for queen sizes. The opening-price-point model is the GhostBed Chill, which has a 10-inch profile; a cover made of Ghost Ice, the company’s proprietary cool-to-the-touch fabric and a gel memory foam layer. Also part of the lineup is the GhostBed Original, which offers a 12-inch profile; a cover made of Ghost Ice fabric; a layer consisting of Ghost Bounce, the company’s proprietary material that contours to the body like memory foam and a gel memory foam layer.
The GhostBed Performance model is a hybrid with gel memory foam, a Spirited Edge innerspring coil unit, Ghost Ice fabric and Ghost Bounce material. The GhostBed Grande combines layers of gel memory foam, Ghost Ice and Ghost Bounce latex. The GhostBed Dimensions, another hybrid, features patented three-dimensional polymer technology along with layers of matrix gel, gel memory foam, a Caliber Edge innerspring coil unit, Ghost Bounce material and flex transition foam.
The brick-and-mortar collection is designed to increase consumer traffic in retail showrooms, said Alan Hirschhorn, executive vice president of sales for GhostBed. It will provide retailers the opportunity to take advantage of the brand’s multimillion-dollar-per-year investment in advertising and the over 1.5 million monthly visitors to GhostBed’s website, many of whom are seeking out local retailers which carry the products.
“This collection will leverage what we have learned about consumers’ shopping behavior during the pandemic,” Hirschhorn said. “While many consumers have embraced online shopping, we still believe that the best way to find the right mattress is to go to a retail location with trained, knowledgeable sales associates and experience the product firsthand. Our new line will give retailers premium designed GhostBeds with all the support and shipping capabilities of a direct-to-consumer brand, but better. Our retailers will now have the option to ship direct-to-consumer utilize our shipping abilities or allow customers to take their bed-in-a box with them on the day of purchase.”
Each brick-and-mortar retailer can select from a variety of models with different features and benefits allowing the store to differentiate its offering from that of competing online retailers. The covers are all cool to the touch and are made at a higher gram weight, thus making them more durable.
GhostBed was launched on the e-commerce channel in 2015 by Marc Werner, founder and CEO of Nature’s Sleep, with a bed-in-a-box model. Since then, the brand has expanded to include the GhostBed Luxe, with core and surface technology designed to keep the mattress cool all night long; and the GhostBed Flex hybrid model, which combines memory foam and a spirited edge innerspring coil unit with a reinforced edge.
GhostBed’s World Market Center showroom is located in building B, suite 980. Las Vegas Market is scheduled for April 11-15.
