Norwalk Furniture to Debut Expanded Kim Salmela Collection at LV Market

Norwalk Furniture and Los Angeles-based designer Kim Salmela are expanding their partnership once again with the launch of several upholstered seating options designed with her modern, west coast vibe. The new pieces will debut at the upcoming Winter 2021 Las Vegas Market, April 11 -15.

Partnering together since 2018, the successful collaboration has broadened Norwalk’s portfolio with a bold mix of fresh textiles and upholstery silhouettes that appeal to a more leading-edge audience.

Pieces include new sectionals, chairs and ottomans and includes layers of texture, color, and pattern on pattern fabric applications in a variety of warm spice tones including shades of turmeric, paprika, mustard and cinnamon.

“Our collaboration with Kim has been successful right out of the gate,” said Caroline Hipple, president of Norwalk Furniture. “Her designs bring a fresh new point of view to our product line, which has allowed us to attract a new audience that we weren’t fully capturing before. Since the launch, we’ve opened up new boutique retailers and interior design accounts across the country, and we are particularly excited to debut these modern new pieces at the Las Vegas Market to serve our west coast partners.”

“Norwalk’s dedication to producing quality, customizable furniture and its drive to continually push design limits continues to be the ‘secret sauce’ of this partnership,” said Salmela. “Together, we have developed a unique new perspective for the product line that has allowed us to grow together to reach a new customer base.”

The pieces will be available in Salmela’s 50 signature fabrics, along with any of Norwalk’s 800 fabrics, dozens of nail head trim and finish options, making them also ideal for the interior design community. Highlights of the expanded Kim Salmela collection include:

  • Landry Sectional: A conversation piece with many different perspectives, the Landry Sectional is designed with a comfortable tight back and feather and down filled seat cushions. It features dramatically sloped arms and is available in 800 fabric options.
  • Brooklyn Chair: Brooklyn is a compact barrel back chair with a loose back cushion and a t-shaped comfort down seat cushion. Perched on the designer’s signature cylinder shaped maple legs in a natural finish, Brooklyn is compact in scale, making it a great option for apartments and smaller spaces. It is available in any of Norwalk’s 800 fabrics and can be customized in 40 wood finishes.
  • Flannery Chair and Ottoman: Organically woven with supportive webbing featuring striped detailing, the Flannery Leather Chair has loose seat cushions and an armless silhouette with streamlined legs in a natural oak frame and finish. The coordinating Ottoman adds to the casual look. It is available in 800 fabrics or 150 leather options.
  • Gage Condo Sofa: Characterized by a modern swoop-arm and turned legs, the Gage Condo Sofa, is a scaled-up version of Kim’s highly successful Gage Settee and is conveniently designed for smaller spaces and apartments.

All of the new items will be on display in a dedicated space at the Las Vegas Market in Building A, space 214, directly across the hall from Norwalk’s showroom in space A225.
