Corsicana Launches Employee Driven Charity Initiative

In honor of its 50th anniversary, leading mattress manufacturer Corsicana Mattress will celebrate the milestone by launching “Corsicana Mattress Cares,” an employee-driven initiative to donate products to charities in each of its plant communities.
The anniversary celebrations began in February at all 10 of Corsicana’s plant facilities across the country. Each factory will collect items for underprivileged members of their communities through a local charity selected by the employees in neighboring cities.
Each quarterly initiative will be implemented by the company’s employee engagement committee. The committee, led by Beverly Robinson, executive assistant/committee chair, and Carla Weber, human resources director/committee HR liaison, will organize and facilitate donation sites. Corsicana and its employees are committed to turning these year-long initiatives into permanent, annual initiatives moving forward.
“We felt that during this unique and challenging time in our nation’s history, the most appropriate way to celebrate this corporate milestone was to help those in our community most in need,” said Michael Thompson, chief executive officer of Corsicana Mattress. “With donation boxes to be set up across the U.S., we can reach thousands of people over the course of a year and make a lasting impact on our communities. I’m so proud of our employees for coming together and helping us do the right thing in the communities where we live and work.”
“Corsicana employees are special people, dedicated to our company, but equally committed to the communities where they live and work. It’s an honor for me to work with Carla and the hundreds of other colleagues in our organization to help those in need,” said Robinson.
Activities and other community outreach related to the donations will take place throughout the year leading up to Corsicana’s official 50th anniversary in December.
