Wayfair to Open New Fulfillment Center in Chicago Area

Online home furnishings retailer Wayfair has announced it is opening a 1.2 million-square-foot fulfillment center in Romeoville, Illinois that will employ more than 250 people, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.
The new facility will help the company “further scale our excellent shopping experience to meet the needs of our rapidly growing customer base in the greater Chicago region and across the U.S.,” said Thomas Netzer, COO, Wayfair.
Construction is scheduled to begin this spring and the fulfillment center is expected to open in 2022. The company plans to start hiring in the second half of 2022.
