Ekornes’ Stressless Charity Promotion Raised over $1.2 Million in 2020

Furniture manufacturer Ekornes, Inc., through its North American dealer network, has raised over $1.2 million in 2020 for local charities. The company has run their annual Stressless Charity promotion for a decade each year from Nov-Jan but last year expanded the event and ran it three times beginning June 5.

“We made our successful Stressless Charity promotion an ongoing event in 2020 so that our retail partners could partake in it all year,” says Peter Bjerregaard, president. “Last year gave us, and our dealers, the opportunity to give back to local charities when they needed it most, during Covid-19.”

Consumers are asked to donate a minimum of $50 to the retailers’ choice of charity and in return they receive savings on Stressless products.

“Our annual charity promotion is one of our top producing events each year and it made perfect sense to run it when the retail partners were able to open their doors back up after quarantine last spring,” says Bjerregaard. 

The successful event ran for 3 periods last year: June 5-August 3, Sept. 4-Oct. 19 and Nov. 20-Jan. 18, 2021. Each event generated nearly 13,000 seats sold for an estimated $400k in charity donations each time.

In 2019 the one-time promotion produced an estimated $360,000+ in donations across the U.S. and Canada. 

“With so many organizations needing support and contributions last year we were happy to be able to team up with our wonderful retailers to do just a very small part in giving back and helping in their local communities,” says Bjerregaard. “We will run it again in November of this year.”
