Ashley Furniture Employees Donate to Mississippi Children’s Hospital

Ashley Furniture employees, from the company’s Ecru, Ripley and Saltillo, Mississippi locations, have made a generous donation of $32,338 to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

The donation was made possible through Ashley’s “Dollar a Week” program and was raised through employee contributions to support one of the leading children’s hospitals in the U.S. In total, Ashley employees have contributed $266,470 toward this cause since 2006.

The donation was presented to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital during the Giving Tuesday Radiothon hosted by iHeartMedia-Tupelo and the Barnes Crossing Auto Group on December 1, 2020.

“All of us at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital appreciate the generous donation from the North Mississippi employees of Ashley Furniture,” Le Bonheur President and CEO Michael Wiggins said. “Because of their support, Le Bonheur will offer the best care to every child and family when they need us.”

In addition to these employee contributions, Ron Wanek, founder and  chairman of Ashley, and his wife, Joyce Wanek, made a personal donation of $5,000 to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

“We are proud to continue to support this outstanding organization in their efforts to find cures for childhood diseases,” said Ron Wanek. “I am proud of all our employees who continue in their generosity, especially during this unprecedented year. We hope this gift helps ease some of the burden on patients’ families.”
