Eclipse and BIA Name Steven Sciortino CFO/COO

Eclipse International and Bedding Industries of America have announced the appointment of Steven Sciortino as chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

As a CPA and trusted advisor, Sciortino has worked closely with CEO Stuart Carlitz for more than a decade. For the new role, Sciortino, 36, will be leaving his partnership at a regional accounting firm and joining the sleep products manufacturer, receiving an equity interest in the business and becoming a key part of future management.

Sciortino will oversee the Eclipse International and Bedding Industries of America finance departments, as well as the company’s operations and logistics.

“For the past 10 years, Steven has been analyzing and advising us based on his having the most intimate financial knowledge of our business. His advice and counsel has been nothing less than spectacular, helping us achieve the record success we have seen these past years. I am thrilled he made the decision to join us full-time and assume an even larger role in our operations,” said Carlitz.

Prior to joining the company, Sciortino was an equity partner in Lear & Pannepacker, LLP, a certified public accounting and advisory firm in Princeton, New Jersey. While there he provided accounting services for individuals and businesses in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Sciortino has also served as a tax professor at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

“Stuart and I have worked closely together already for a decade and the fruits of those labors have benefitted our customers, employees and suppliers. I wanted to play a greater role in helping Eclipse International and Bedding Industries of America reach new milestones in the years to come,” Sciortino said.

Sciortino received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Rider University’s College of Business Administration. He is also a member of the university’s Accounting Advisory Council where he lectures frequently on various business and tax topics and volunteers to offer career transition services to executives and professionals taking new positions within organizations, starting businesses and consulting firms, or retirement.

He resides with his family in Robbinsville, New Jersey.
