Riverside Furniture Taps John Iasiello as President

Ft. Smith, Arkansas-based Riverside Furniture, a leading casegoods resource, has promoted industry veteran John Iasiello to the position of president.

Iasiello has been with the company for three years, serving in the roles of senior vice president of strategic planning and business development and most recently senior vice president of sales, marketing and product development.

“It’s clear that, at this exciting time of growth for Riverside, John is the right person to take on the role of president,” said Fred Henjes, who will continue as CEO and chairman.

“John is highly recognizable in the furniture industry and is a person of integrity with great listening skills and merchandising and product development talent,” Henjes said.

Henjes said his own role will not change. “I will continue to be active every day, and am full speed ahead,” he said, adding “With all the many projects we have underway, such as the renovation of the historic YMCA on Main Street in High Point to create a state-of-the-art showroom and product development center, and the new North Carolina distribution center, John will help us get our arms around everything.” He added that Iasiello’s focus will be on setting the strategic vision for sales, marketing and product development.

Riverside now has three primary executive officers. They are Henjes in the role of CEO and chairman, Iasiello in the role of president and Beth Brown in the role of chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

“I am very excited and honored that Fred has entrusted me with this expanded leadership role,” Iasiello said. “Riverside has a talented team, and my role will be to grow the business and team. I believe Riverside is in a great position to build on the challenges of 2020 with relentless implementation of strategy.”

Iasiello began his furniture industry career in merchandising management roles with retailers Huffman Koos, Federated Dept. Stores and Breuners, before serving in management and senior management positions with companies including Natuzzi, Broyhill, A.R.T. and Emerald Home Furnishings.
