Southwest Fla.-based retailer Norris Furniture & Interiors is providing furniture and home furnishings to a local wounded veteran as part of Lifetime Network’s “Military Makeover.” The national series transforms the homes and lives of military veterans and their families.
“As a veteran myself, it is such an honor to give back to another veteran and his family,” said Larry Norris, owner of Norris Furniture & Interiors. “We are proud to be part of something that is giving back to those who have given so much to this country.”
A local of Cape Coral, Fla., Army Staff Sergeant Daniel Burgess was chosen to have his home renovated as part of the television series. In 2011, Burgess was injured by a hidden improvised explosive device (IED) as he was working with Marines to help a local population in Afghanistan identify, avoid, and remove explosive traps left by the Taliban. The arduous recovery process from his catastrophic injuries is still ongoing, and his family desires to make their home safer and more accommodating for him.
