SFC Invites Industry to Open Membership Webinar

The Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) has issued an invitation to all industry professionals, to participate virtually in the organization’s annual review of the state of sustainability in residential furnishings, on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 12 p.m. ET.

The free event is sponsored by leaders within related manufacturing and retail sectors, including Currey & Company, Milliken, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Naturepedic, Saatva, Room and Board, and Varaluz.

Nearly 400 SFC-member companies will be celebrated for their individual commitments to sustainable practices, operational transparency, and continuous improvement in attaining key metrics for environmental progress.

The meeting agenda includes open discussion of the SFC organization’s current priorities and concerns, as well as opportunities to review programming gaps and promote networking among members.

Results will be shared from a recent SFC-initiated survey, in which members ranked six areas of focus for their operations: Circularity, Carbon Reduction, Health & Well-Being, Social Equity, Waste Reduction, and Water Stewardship.

The SFC staff, its board members, ambassadors and sponsors will be on hand to share insights, while non-member participants are invited to contribute their questions and comments, and to add to the discussion.

“All hands on deck are needed to effectively address our planet’s pressing climate crisis,” says Susan Inglis, SFC executive director. “We value input from all quarters, and would like to invite those with curiosity, interest or ideas to consider SFC membership as well.”
