Legends Expands Staff, Announces New Hires

Case goods manufacturer Legends Furniture has announced the addition of eight new members to its Information Technology, Operations and the Marketing departments.

After consulting with the company for over three years, Deb Polakowski was hired as the permanent IT director. As a consultant, she automated the current systems and built a propriety EDI system that now allows Legends to interchange electronic data between customers and warehouses. Polakowski holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and has extensive experience in Software development.

Also added to the IT department is Aaron Smith. Smith is the DevOps engineer and his primary focus has been developing and maintaining the Legends proprietary software solutions system. He’s also been writing code so the old legacy system and the new one can communicate and work together. He has a degree in Computer Systems Engineering and interned at the Space and Warfare Development Center (SPAWAR) in the Cybersecurity Division.

Jawed (JJ) Jessani is the new senior operations manager. He’s responsible for all shipping and warehouse functions in Tolleson, Arizona. Since he’s been with the company, Jessani has updated most of the warehouse and scheduling processes that has significantly upgraded the company’s structure. He also has 30 years’ experience in warehousing and scheduling and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering.

Focusing on logistics, product life cycles and business analytics, Justin Miller has been added to the company as an operations analyst. He’s been streamlining the import product division and helping analyze the company’s inventory and business statistics. Miller recently graduated Magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and has 13 years of aerospace manufacturing experience.

The most recent addition to operations was Ashley Robens as shipping clerk. She’s responsible for fielding all daily phone, fax, internet orders and emails directed to shipping department. Robens verifies all incoming and outgoing shipments, audits all manifests, invoices and orders for accuracy and conducts weekly inventory checks.

Besides the IT and operations departments, the marketing group had opportunities for growth as well. The first addition was Josh Nuhn as creative lead. He produces all marketing presentations, ads and digital assets the company depends on to promote their products and brand. In addition to creative projects, he’s been essential to the business by managing and maintaining the company’s online catalog and sales portals. He’s also been a project manager for Greentouch, a product development endeavor for the company.

Cyndi Dart, as the new marketing manager will be responsible for all aspects of marketing for the company ranging from strategy, research, marketing collateral, account relationships, digital and more. She has 20 years of manufacturing experience in the beauty industry and has a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and finance.

To support the new members, Esmeralda joined Legends as the human recourses assistant. She coordinates new hire paperwork, enrolls employees with benefits and does several general HR duties.
