Malouf Increases Investment in Product Development, Expands Team

Utah-based furniture and bedding accessories provider Malouf has announced the expansion of its product development team, adding several new positions.

“We’re so excited to dedicate more resources to meeting customer demand. It’s no secret that sourcing raw materials has been a problem,” said Eric Holmstead, national sales director. “These new members will aggressively pursue the changes needed to meet demand while creating greater production capacity. Issues in the supply chain will continue to challenge the industry, but our team is prepared to deliver the best results to our retail partners.”

Kyle Robertson, director of product development, noted that the growth in the product development team will also help build out new categories. Since Malouf launched furniture at the Las Vegas Market in 2019, they have seen an uptick in demand for their easily shippable, ready-to-assemble furniture.

“We’re using this new bandwidth to increase our product offerings,” said Robertson said. “RTA furniture is a new chapter for Malouf, and one that’s proving very successful for our partners. We’re going to keep expanding the Weekender furniture selection and reinforcing our in-stock percentages for the products that our partners rely on.”

The expanded product development team will also help further develop the company’s line of technology-rich adjustable bed bases. Because of the strong in-stock percentages of adjustables, Malouf has worked with retail partners to build out programs designed to appeal to customers looking to enhance their at-home comfort.

Bryan Scott, the president of Big Sandy Superstore, spoke highly of his company’s partnership with Malouf. Scott said, “The adjustable base program we launched with Malouf earlier this year has been extraordinarily successful in our stores. They are one of our most reliable suppliers of accessories and bases, and we’re glad to be working with them in these uncertain times.”
