Bennington Furniture Acquires The Old Brick Furniture Co., Companies to Merge

Bennington, Vt.-based Bennington Furniture, comprising six retail locations across Vermont, western Massachusetts, and the southern Adirondack region of upstate New York, has announced the purchase of The Old Brick Furniture Co., a two-store chain based in Albany, N.Y.
The two businesses will merge in the coming months, with all Bennington Furniture locations becoming The Old Brick Furniture Co. stores.
The Old Brick Furniture Co. was founded in the late 1980’s and was most recently owned and operated by Henry Terk and his family.
“We have always looked at The Old Brick as a scalable model with an authentic brand and heritage that the Bennington Furniture brand is very compatible with," said Michael Fiacco, president and owner of Bennington Furniture. “We’re excited for this new chapter and what it means for our future.”
The Old Brick Furniture Co., whose tagline is “Price Low and Tell the Truth,” has become a well-known and trusted furniture retailer in the Albany, N.Y. Capital Region. The company started as C. and D. Distributors, Inc. in the 1960's as wholesalers. In the late 1980's, the organization changed its business model and became a direct to consumer retailer, and The Old Brick Furniture Co. was founded. The Old Brick is known for low- pressure, non-commission sales teams and outstanding customer service. Distributors at their core, The Old Brick Furniture Co. is known for having the best prices on the planet from Saratoga Springs to Singapore.
The Bennington Furniture brand, known for helping customers create “a style that’s all your own,” will live on within The Old Brick stores through Bennington Custom, a design- oriented, custom furniture line that its current customer base has grown to love. Bennington Custom will stay true to Bennington Furniture’s interior design and Vermont-based roots, which have focused on value and quality for the last 30 years.
