Hooker Furniture Unveils New Castella Collection

Hooker Furniture has announced the launch of the Castella collection, a 51-piece assortment of bedroom, dining room, occasional, entertainment and home office pieces.

Featuring the same Classic European design elements as one of the company’s best-selling collections, Castella is presented in an updated mid-tone brown with a beautiful patina, a lighter-tone alternative to its popular Rhapsody collection.

Designed for the sophisticated consumer who appreciates a casual style, but is looking to invest in timeless quality furniture with premier construction, quality materials and premium finishing, Castella provides a fresh new look to a proven style that has consistently topped the company’s sales charts for nearly 10 years.

“As the country has shifted much of its school, work and entertainment routines in response to the pandemic, consumers are investing more in the place where so many of these activities are now taking place the home,” said Tim O’Hare, senior vice president of merchandising and design for Hooker Furniture case goods. “With this shift, we have seen an increased interest in not only more casual styles, but also consumers wanting to upgrade their spaces with high quality furniture that can be passed down from generation to generation. Our new Castella collection achieves both.”

Crafted of quartered walnut, quartered black walnut and quartered ash and maple veneers, the impressive scaling of the Castella Collection combines with classic design elements including scrolls, serpentine shapes, rope twist molding, acanthus leaf details and fleur-de-lis accents to create old world charm.

Anchoring the dining room category is the rectangular dining table with a scrolled trestle base, carved border and scrolled bases in harp-like motifs. Additional table options include a more casual round urn table with an urn shaped base –available with a 60- or 72-inch table top – and a counter-height round table that can serve double duty as a foyer or hall piece. Dining chair options include a more traditionally-styled exposed wood arm and side chair with acanthus leaf and fleur de lis detailing on the backs, a host-style chair with decorative cross base, a tufted slipper-style chair, a streamlined arm and side chair with nail head detailing and a counter stool. Coordinating storage pieces include an arched bunching curio with display lighting.

Two bed options are available, including a tufted bed and panel bed. The tufted bed features grand scaling with soft, sweeping lines. It is upholstered in a performance fabric in a soft neutral tone with luxurious tufting for a plush appearance. The panel bed is characterized by its chevron veneer pattern and elaborately carved headboard, adorned with a grand interpretation of a recurring scroll motif. Additional bedroom pieces include an urn pedestal nightstand, a three- drawer nightstand, a twelve drawer dresser, a five-drawer chest, a media chest, a bachelors chest and a coordinating mirror.

Highlights of the occasional, home office and entertainment pieces include a square cocktail table and end table, a credenza and accent console, an entertainment console, an executive home office assortment including a swivel desk chair and a writing desk.

The collection will be on display in Hooker Furniture’s High Point Market showroom, space C-1058 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
