H Contract, a division of Hooker Furniture Corp. (NASDAQ: HOFT), and a supplier of upholstered seating and case goods for the senior living market is making its debut in the stacking chair category. The new product line expands the company’s position as one of the largest full-service resources of contract-grade case goods, accent pieces and made-to-order upholstery styles for senior living spaces.
The H Contract product line was designed with wood frames, offering more of a residential look and feel – a sought-after design element for interior designers looking to create an “at home” environment for residents in senior housing. Providing a wide variety of seating flexibility for many areas within senior living facilities, such as dining rooms and activity rooms, the stacking functionality provides facilities with convenient storage and easy access to additional seating in a small footprint.
“While this category is not new to the industry, it is a critical addition to our portfolio as we strengthen our position as a provider of the broadest assortment of products for the senior living market,” said Dean Jarrett, vice president and general manager of H Contract. “Our Contract interior design partners are looking for pieces that are highly durable and functional, yet still offer a stylish, residential look. This addition to our product line achieves both of those goals.”
The two new styles include the Carley and Cassidy stack chairs. The new chairs are manufactured to the same commercial-grade standards as the existing H Contract dining chair assortment, including frames constructed from solid European beech, mortise and tenon joinery and highly durable wood finishes.
H Contract began shipping the stacking chairs in September.
