Elements Expands into Mattress Manufacturing, to Open Texas Facility in October

Wholesale furniture supplier Elements International Group, LLC has announced its plans to launch Elements Sleep, a domestic mattress manufacturing facility in Mesquite, Texas, this fall.

Several properties within close proximity to Elements’ primary North America headquarters and distribution center are being considered to house the operations of this new category.

Currently sourcing case goods, import upholstery, and more recently domestic upholstery with the acquisition of Style-Line Furniture, Elements plans to leverage the current gap in the industry around import mattresses due to the recent tariffs and anti-dumping placed on these goods, with domestically made mattresses that are easily shipped with case good orders from their current distribution facility in Mesquite, Texas. Elements will be able to fulfill orders as early as October of 2020.

The company has hired Josh Micklos as president of Elements Sleep and Jeff Quinn as vice president of Elements Sleep to launch the new product category and run the operations. Both Micklos and Quinn have over 50 years of combined experience in the mattress industry.

“We are very excited to be launching Elements Sleep,” said Micklos. “The future of the US Bedding market is changing dramatically, and we are confident we will be able to leverage new technologies, our manufacturing experience, and Elements current customer base to make this program a success.”

“We have been contemplating an entry into the mattress category for a long time and feel the timing of this new venture is great,” said Mike Wurster, president of Elements International. “The team of mattress industry veterans we have brought on to run Elements Sleep along with the sales, marketing, financial, and operations strength of Elements will bring this new category to life.”
