Southerland Adds 6 New All-Natural Mattresses to Heritage Collection

Independent sleep products manufacturer Southerland has redesigned its high-end latex line to include six new mattresses in Heritage Copper Latex that feature an organic cotton cover and multiple layers of all-natural Talalay Latex.
The expanded, all-natural lineup is designed to meet the needs of one of the fastest growing segments of the healthy-lifestyle market – consumers looking for natural products that can help reduce chemicals in their home and sleep environment.
“Consumers are increasingly looking for and buying more natural and organic products across all categories from the food they eat to the hybrid cars they drive,” said Bryan Smith, president and chief executive officer of Southerland. “Our newly engineered Heritage Copper Latex collection features the most natural beds we’ve ever made. The collection gives our independent bedding retailers a way to stand out in the marketplace with a truly natural sleep option.”
Mattresses in the collection are priced to retail from $2,000 to $5,000 in queen.
In addition to the all-natural latex story, the Heritage Copper Latex features copper infused into the all-natural latex. The copper infused latex provides antimicrobial properties, and copper has been noted to benefit circulation, act as an anti-inflammatory and deliver anti-oxidant properties. Sleep products made using copper offer a number of benefits, including odor control, improved hygiene, improved skin texture, skin tone and overall skin wellness for the consumer.
“Our retail partners have been requesting more specialty products, and this collection hits all their needs,” Smith said. “Natural and organic products are a great differentiator, and appeal to a consumer group that is already accustomed to paying a premium for healthier products.”
