Hickory White Unveils Fall Introductions

Case goods and upholstery resource Hickory White has announced its fall introductions will include over 50 new fabrics and four uniquely different finishes.

The inspiration for the company’s latest product emerges from fashion magazines, archived art books, and refined items in nature, such as soft feathers and smooth pink seashells. With a mix of bold and bright colors in the fabrics combined with tailored and graphic shapes of the casegood products, the overall look is known as Trellis.

In Latin, the word trilix means woven with three threads. Trellis represents an architectural structure made to support and display climbing plants.

“The three threads to good design could be described as the following: Structure, meaning it should be structurally sound, Function: meaning it must have practical function, and Aesthetics: meaning it should be beautiful,” said India Miller, creative director for Hickory White and Lillian August upholstery divisions.

For much of the year, Miller and designer Teri Cole worked within the showroom, gathering ideas for all Hickory White upholstery, collaborating on product development for case goods with Cindy Hall, vice president of wood merchandising, as well as ensuring the new product presentation is cohesive with existing in-line pieces.

“I am excited about how Trellis has come together. The items in Trellis utilize what Hickory White does best: great design, new-on trend finishes, and impeccable quality,” said Hall.

“We believe wholeheartedly in what we’ve done. Every market we work to be passionate about what we’re trying to present,” said Miller and Cole. “Our hope through the Trellis Collection is to inspire and strike a chord with designers by showing our immense
offering of finishes for case and fashion forward fabrics.”

Many frames feature Performance fabrics, which boast Enhanced durability, Soil resistance, and are Stain repellent, resulting in upholstery suited for any lifestyle.

Among the new upholstery items is the Finn Sofa, which features a wide track arm sloping to the back of the frame. A new Hickory White (HW2462-56) performance fabric in a silver-grey coloration compliment a modern walnut finish. The new Gigi Sofa has a Hollywood inspired frame with a tight seat back and angled seams. The Gigi is has champagne velvet (HW2680-07) fabric and a simple pad foot is finished in Cotswold.

Drawing inspiration from the classics of the French ‘40s, the new Huck Chest is composed of quartered ash veneers and ash solids. The drawer faces are crafted from Lacewood veneer. All mitered box construction with custom metal ferrules and hardware are available in both polished brass and polished nickel. The Rives Chest showcases a versatile design that can stand alone or be shown in a pair to create a dresser look. The chest has four ample storage drawers that are veneered with quartered ash and mounted with elegant pulls in polished brass or polished nickel. The chest features a USB power strip, which enhances overall functionality.
