Mattress manufacturer Mlily USA has announced it will open its second U.S. factory in Goodyear, Arizona, in December 2020. The 643,748-square-foot factory will house mattress manufacturing, foam pouring and spring production, and will employ 300 people at full capacity.
“We are seeing significant growth both in our branded products and in our private label contract business. The additional capacity will allow us to maintain our growth trajectory, and continue to fulfill the growing demand for domestic-made mattresses, crafted by American workers,” said Stephen Chen, president. “When this factory opens, we’ll have a first-class facility in the West to match our flagship factory in South Carolina so that we can seamlessly service our North American partners.”
The Arizona facility, located in First Park at PV303 at 3350 N. Cotton Lane in Goodyear, is scheduled to open one year after the company brought its first U.S. factory online in South Carolina. The new facility is being built-to-suit Mlily’s specifications.
When the new factory comes online in December, the company expects to produce more than 1,500 pieces a day and increase quickly to more than 6,000 pieces a day with full employment. Mlily USA will produce its full line of mattresses and mattress toppers at the new factory. In addition, the factory will manufacture springs and proprietary memory foam used in its mattresses.
The State of Arizona has long been home to mattress manufacturing facilities, making it a strong location to find an experienced workforce.
In addition to the 650,000-square-foot factory in Winnsboro, South Carolina, Mlily’s parent company Healthcare Co. has factories in China, Serbia, Spain and Thailand that produce mattresses, pillows and toppers for retailers across the globe.
