Art Hide Celebrates 10 years, Birthday Collection to be Released in 2020

Art Hide, makers of premium quality cowhide rugs, sourced as a natural by-product of the beef industry, is celebrating 10 years of creating customizable rugs. Using signature techniques of custom dyeing, laser burning and metallic stenciling, Art Hide transforms cowhide pelt into an extensive range of rugs, décor, furniture and custom applications that offer design potential for corporate, commercial, and residential inclusions.

Founded by two Australian sisters, Kura Perkins and Bree Hay-Hendry, Art Hide has made 270,000 square feet of rugs during its decade in business including regular collaborations with leading global interior designers, notching up a stunning portfolio of both residential and commercial interiors.

The ability to quickly and easily customize rugs has become central to Art Hide’s success as a business. A free render resource called ‘Room Service’ enables clients to view the rugs in their space and easily order swatches of any rug online.

“Where people have odd shaped rooms or large spaces, rugs can really serve to pull everything together and zone the room,” said Perkins, CEO of Art Hide. “One of the most popular features of Art Hide’s custom service is the ability to be able to use color within the rug to tie everything together. You can see this in a lot of our projects, where the designer or customer has selected from our extensive color range or we have lab dipped for them to match pantones or fabric swatches.”

Hay-Hendry, creative director for the company, draws on her fashion and textiles degree to create all of Art Hide’s designs. Her focus while developing their unique colors and patterns is to elevate the beautiful natural attributes of hide while pushing the boundaries of what even their makers think may be possible.

Art Hide has three artisan manufacturing teams, all of which are International Standards Organization (ISO) certified. This guarantees aspects like sustainability of production, excellent conditions for workers, high standards of product and more. Each of Art Hide’s teams is an important extension of the business and all makers are third-generation leather artisans.

With warehouses in Australia and the U.S., Art Hide also has agents in the UAE, China, and United Kingdom giving the company a global presence.
