Restonic Mattress Corporation has announced the launch of a national consumer contest on its trademarked SleepBlog. The contest, running June 1 – 12, asks consumers to tag their favorite local businesses on social media and the company is offering two cash prizes.
Consumers are plugging into social media sites at unprecedented levels in an effort to stay connected with friends and family, be informed and be entertained. Overall web traffic has soared as high as 60% compared to pre-COVID levels. With more eyes than ever looking at screens, retailers are continuing to recognize the need to add to or pivot their digital marketing outreach.
“Restonic’s Buy Local Contest encourages consumers to play an active role in supporting their favorite small businesses in their communities,” says Julia Rosien, vice president of brand and digital marketing. “We’re very hopeful that both consumers and retailers will connect with this contest, coming together online to support each other in new ways.”
The contest has already struck a chord with thousands of consumers, many of them sharing what they love about the businesses in their communities.
Cathie in Minnesota says, “Wrap City Graphics is a great local business that does so much to support local people and they do a lot of free work for local animal shelters.”
Meranda in Georgia says, “M&J Cole Remodeling and Repair, LLC. Father and son small remodeling business. Always giving back to the community.”
Correy in New York says, “Raymour & Flannigan for great customer service!”
Brian in Canada says, “I am so excited seeing local businesses that I had forgotten about already!”
Ron Passaglia, president and CEO of Restonic says that focusing on consumer needs and evolving with the changing landscape supports the retail community. “Our digital trends research with Furniture Today has allowed us to study consumer behavior much closer than ever before and it’s clear consumers are using the digital landscape to guide their purchases,” he says. “This type of contest highlights the need to support both consumer demand and our retailers’ needs as we come together to heal from the economic effects of the COVID epidemic.”
