HOM Donates Over 20,000 Meals to Frontline Heroes

Retailer HOM Furniture announced it has provided over 20,000 meals to local frontline heroes in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. 

The company started on Thursday, April 16 with its first delivery to Mercy and Unity Campus’s in Coon Rapids and Fridley, Minnesota.  It expanded to other Twin City Metro hospitals including North Memorial -Robbinsdale, Hennepin County Medical Center, MHealth Fairview hospitals including Bethesda, Woodwinds, St. John’s, St. Joseph’s, University of Minnesota East & West Bank, Essentia Health in Fargo, and St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. With every $499 or more purchase at HOM Furniture or DOCK85 thru May 8, 2020, a donation of $50 from the purchase was donated to feed local frontline heroes.

On May 4, HOM partnered with local Pizza Ranch Franchises to deliver hot individual two piece chicken dinners and personalized individual pizzas to include local EMS, police, and firefighters. The company expanded into Sioux Falls to deliver to Sanford Health.

“We are proud to call the upper Midwest home and are fortunate to be able to give back to our HOM Furniture and Pizza Ranch communities with the support of our customers,” said Rodney Johansen, president and CEO. “Everybody likes to feel appreciated and we were grateful to our frontline local heroes who put their own lives at risk to insure ours. During these times of uncertainty we have to do things differently and we wanted to say Thank You to all health care and first responders who have worked tirelessly to take care of our local Midwest communities.”
