Morris Furniture Co., Inc. has announced the closure of its Morris Home Furniture & Mattress showroom at 2121 Harshman Road in Riverside, Ohio. The 70,000 square foot showroom has served seven generations of Daytonians with furniture and mattresses.
“With mixed emotions, we are announcing that our Harshman Road Morris Home showroom is closing,” said Larry Klaben, president and CEO. “For many decades, this was the flagship store of our company with thousands across the Greater Miami Valley traveling for miles to visit this showroom. The store was known for having one of the best selections of home furnishings and mattresses at competitive prices. Our closing sale begins on Thursday, May 14 at 11 a.m.”
“During our $8,000,000 Closing Sale all living room, bedroom, and dining room furniture and mattresses will be sold with drastic reductions while the company prepares for the grand opening of two new Morris Home showrooms. Thousands of floor samples, one-of-a-kinds, overstocks, scratch-n-dents and clearance items will be sold. We have hundreds of sofas, chairs, beds, dining tables, accent tables and mattresses priced to move,” added Klaben.
Earlier this year, Morris Furniture Co., Inc announced that the company would open two new showrooms at the Dayton Mall and the Mall at Fairfield Commons. The opening of these two showrooms is expected later this summer.
The new Morris Home showrooms will include Better Sleep Shops and Morris Outlets. The showrooms will feature many of the top furniture and mattress brands including, La-Z-Boy, Flexsteel, Ashley, Lane, Universal, Bernhardt, Klaussner, Jonathan Louis, Craftmaster, Sealy, Tempur-Pedic, Steans & Foster, and Beautyrest.
Morris Furniture will be following CDC recommended guidelines during this Harshman Road closing sale. All associates will be wearing face coverings and shoppers are asked to do the same for everyone’s protection. Store signage is in place reminding shoppers to “sofa distance” by staying 6 to 10 feet away from others. All associates will have their temperature checked each day and we will be limiting capacity to ensure that occupancy is below 50% of fire code regulations. This showroom is very large and is extremely safe for customers to shop and maintain social distancing.
