Malouf Acquires Salt Flat, Expands Home Furnishings Lineup

Utah-based bedroom furniture and accessories provider Malouf has announced its recent acquisition of home furnishings company Salt Flat offering a greater product variety to its retail partners.

The acquisition adds furniture manufacturing capabilities of over 500 initial SKUs across six categories: living room, dining room, bedroom, outdoor, storage and office.

“In the past, people have known us as a bedding company, but over the last year, we’ve added bedroom furniture to our lineup,” said Mike Douglas, VP of Sales. “These line extensions have been well received, and when we had the opportunity to acquire Salt Flat, it made perfect sense. We’re excited to build this brand and offer Salt Flat products to our partners.”

From sofas and dining room tables to dressers and nightstands, Salt Flat furnishings feature expert craftmanship, thoughtful details and enduring materials. The comprehensive product line has been curated over the last 30 years and has proven successful in retail locations throughout the Intermountain West. Now, Malouf wants to make these products available to its national clientele.

“We’re grateful to work with Malouf and its customers moving forward,” said Mason Niederhauser, president of Salt Flat. “We’re confident this partnership will create new opportunities to elevate the Salt Flat brand and reach a wider range of customers.”

Salt Flat products are now available through Malouf’s container direct program, where its partners can mix and match pieces and ship product directly to their stores.

Douglas added, “Our customers can continue to expect the same great service and benefits of working with us. We’re extending our services to include more categories. Our goal is to further simplify our partners’ lives, so they can work with fewer vendors and consolidate ordering.”
