OW Lee, a manufacturer of high-end outdoor furniture, fire pits, and accessories, has announced a new effort to ramp up production of fabric face masks and other PPE items to help in the fight against COVID-19. The company has committed to producing 25,000 masks for the cause.
OW Lee’s fabric masks are ideal for healthcare workers to be worn over the N95 mask to increase its longevity, or for general public use. The masks are comprised of pre-shrunk outdoor solution-dyed acrylic fabric, which is liquid repellent and anti-microbial, with a soft industrial-grade polypropylene for the inner layer. The masks are very breathable and can withstand washing in bleach at the highest of temperatures.
“As an American manufacturer, we feel it is our duty to support our country in any way we can right now,” said Terri Lee Rogers, president and VP of sales. “We are all in this together and together we will get through this.”
The company will be offering the masks for sale on their website. All masks will be sold at the price it costs the company to produce and ship them, in order to get masks in as many Americans hands as possible. In addition, the website will also be offering a “buy one, donate one’” purchase option. All donations are being sent to healthcare workers and other first responders.
In addition, OW Lee is seeking partnerships with hospitals, government agencies and other manufacturers to produce items such a gowns, coveralls, curtains and hospital bed frames.
