Spring Air Partners with U.S. Licensees to Produce Masks

In response to COVID-19, licensees across the U.S. have joined Spring Air International’s corporate office in manufacturing thousands of face masks for local hospitals to help relieve the shortage in protective gear, and to the general public for self-protection.

“Our organization was anxious to marshal our resources to help at this time of crisis. When we determined we had the capability to make masks to help the nation’s heroic health care workers during this time, we mobilized quickly,” said Nick Bates, president. “By pooling our resources, our group can make a much bigger impact across the country. Our licensing network is filled with big-hearted individuals that are committed members of their respective communities.”

Licensees are using a stretch knit ticking and non-woven to produce the masks that can then be used for those who do not need to wear a N95 mask. The masks being made in the bedding factories can also be worn on top of the N95 version.

As COVID-19 continues to spread and state governments order closures of non-essential businesses, many retailers have been forced to close impacting sales of bedding and furniture.

“We recognize that today’s economic climate is unprecedented, and we’re committed to working with members of our licensing network to weather this together,” Bates said. “As a company, we will be able to take the risk in activating this plan. We believe in our partners, and we are here to stand by them through this challenge.”
