Dallas Designer Taps Design Community, Makes Thousands of Surgical Masks for Covid-19 Frontlines

Dallas interior designer Jean Liu is using her Michigan-based outdoor furniture manufacturing plant to assist those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic by making thousands of surgical masks available to hospitals for free.

Liu tapped Schumacher and Kravet, who donated the cotton for the masks, as well as Century Furniture, CR Laine and many others who are using their cutting machines and sewing teams to help make the masks. Together they can make 10,000 a day.
