HOM Furniture Temporarily Closes All Retail Showrooms

Minneapolis-based HOM Furniture is temporarily closing all of its retail locations in all markets effective Thursday, March 19 at the close of business.
“During these last few weeks we’ve been learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how to protect our employers, families and customers,” said Rodney Johansen, president and CEO. “We felt it was our responsibility to our communities as a large non-essential employer in the Minneapolis market as well as our other markets to set the tone during this situation.”
After much thought and discussion about what is best for their employees company wide, HOM Furniture Corporate made the difficult decision to close all retail showrooms in five states including HOM Furniture’s sister stores Gabberts Fine Design & Furnishings and DOCK86.
While many customers have scheduled deliveries and installations, the company is asking customers to inform them if anyone in their home is feeling ill, so they can either arrange to do a no charge garage drop delivery at their scheduled time or re-schedule delivery to a more appropriate day.
At this time HOM Furniture plans to re-open on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Other departments in the corporate office along with warehouse operations and delivery teams will keep working to deliver furniture to customers this week and next week using recommended precautions as outlined by the CDC.
During this time, customers are able to shop and buy home furnishings on the company’s website 24/7 at www.homfurniture.com and www.dock86.com for purchases that can be made in the safety of their home with free garage drop shipping to homes on most purchases.
