Bob’s Discount Furniture has donated $75,000 from its “Café Collections for a Cause” campaign to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive – not simply struggle to get by – in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.
Throughout the months of October through December, Bob’s raised the money via collections in stores across the country, which was then matched by the company. The donation was presented to Operation Homefront’s President and CEO, John Pray, by Marine veterans and Bob’s Discount Furniture store managers Duane McGowan and Maurice Mckisset at the Falls Church, Virginia location.
Duane McGowan is a Gulf War veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served for six years total. He has three years active duty and three years in the reserves. Maurice Mckisset is a Sergeant United States Marine Corps Reserve. He joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1994, serving six years active reserves and two years inactive reserves.
This donation comes as a continuation of Bob’s partnership with Operation Homefront, including support for their Back-to-School Brigade, Holiday Meals for Military and Homes on the Homefront programs.
