Corsicana Expands Boxed Bed Options

Corsicana Mattress has announced the expansion of its boxed bed options to now include roll-packed mattress offerings in each of its five brands.

The company will offer 25 boxed bed models across its five brands – from its promotional Sleep Inc. to its premium NightsBridge – to arm its retail partners with product that offers merchandising options across a wide price point span beginning with $199 and climbing to $999.

The move gives brick-and-mortar retailers the ability to expand their omni-channel strategies with a complete merchandising program to better compete against the increased number of e-commerce brands.

With the boxed bedding category now commanding more than 20% of the market, Corsicana is positioning its brands to harness the growth in the under $1,000 price realm for boxed beds.

“As the boxed bedding segment continues its growth trajectory, Corsicana is taking an omni-channel view of all of our brands to enable retailers to have a competitive advantage over the online marketers,” said Michael Thompson, CEO. “Consumers continue to embrace buying beds online, and we expect that movement to continue. Our strategy provides retailers a comprehensive offering to connect with those consumers both online and in their stores.”

All five models in Corsicana’s Early Bird brand, designed specifically as an online brand, are sold boxed. Renue, a nine-bed brand, features five boxed beds; American Bedding, the company’s largest brand with 22 designs, includes six boxed designs; and Sleep Inc. offers five of 11 models as boxed beds and will add two new boxed models in January. NightsBridge, the company’s upper-tier brand, will be adding two boxed beds to its current eight traditional designs in January.

As a domestic manufacturer, Corsicana’s product also affords retailers the opportunity to develop boxed bed programs with less working capital, improved delivery and attractive margins versus offshore alternatives.
