Castelle Contract Tapped for Biltmore Commercial Outdoor

Designer and manufacturer of luxury contract outdoor furnishings Castelle announces a continuation of its collaboration with the Biltmore Estate through a recent installation within the Estate’s Antler Hill Village.  A popular commercial area with a winery, shops and restaurants, the Antler Hill Village will welcome visitors and guests to relax within furnishings from the collection by the same name, Antler Hill from Biltmore by Castelle.

The Biltmore Licensed Products outdoor furnishings were designed using custom selected fabrics and finishes for the farm-inspired area of the property. Planned by the Castelle and Biltmore design staffs, commercial conversation and dining areas were outfitted with durable outdoor products including dining, deep seating, chat sets, benches, pub tables and a custom cast aluminum corn hole set.

“The Antler Hill Collection from Castelle was used within this installation in keeping with presenting a rustic yet elegant experience for guests to this area of the estate,” said George Gikas, Castelle Contract.  “We are proud of our collaborative designs and how they speak to the variety of outdoor living that exists within this storied estate.”

Home to the Winery, Farmyard, and a variety of craft demonstrations, Biltmore’s Antler Hill Village pays homage to the estate’s agricultural heritage.  The village is anchored by a century-old horse barn that was once the social and work center for estate families who lived in charming farmhouses and cottages in the surrounding area.

“The Castelle design team has a keen eye for incorporating inspiration from Biltmore to create beautiful products with attention to quality and style,” said Donnette Miller, director of licensing, Biltmore Licensed Consumer Products.  “It is an authentic process of being inspired by the architectural elements of the house, the gardens and our vast collection of furnishings and accessories. With these outdoor furnishings, we wanted to create a feeling of welcome like a countryside village. It was planned as a place you can sit and talk, enjoy a drink, or listen to music in between shopping and eating of course.”

As far as the coloration and finishes selected for the project, the Biltmore team wanted it to be esthetically consistent, without being restricted to one finish. A mix of multiple finishes across the seating groups including Restoration White, Weathered Gray and Cast Iron was planned as well as contrasting combinations for table tops and bases.

“Castelle is a valued partner, the products are hand made with attention to detail,” continued Miller. “Biltmore is a design laboratory of product ideas and we are so pleased to have the talented design team from Castelle work with us on creating unique and beautiful products for the home.”

Inspired by historic estate structures, the Antler Hill Collection was designed to offer a more casual way to bring home the Vanderbilt legacy of gracious living. The customization capabilities of Castelle enable it to fully create the unique pastoral style of rustic yet sophisticated outdoor furnishings as well as add details such as the distinctive faux bois elements.
