McRoskey Unveils New Mattress Design

For the first time in more than 90-years, San Francisco-based luxury brand McRoskey Mattress has unveiled a new innerspring and a new cover.
The redesigned collection features a new sleek, upscale design without its iconic blue and white striped ticking the brand is known for. The change comes on the heels of the brand’s 120th Anniversary milestone and its recent acquisition by Fresno, Calif.-based Pleasant Mattress.
The striped ticking has been replaced with creamy, off-white woven stretch fabric panel, creamy cotton border, and a pocketed coil system in the mattress and box spring, a McRoskey first. The new collection features two comforts, a gentle and a firm. The SoMa Collection name pays homage to McRoskey’s original South of Market Street factory location and features natural materials, including horsehair, alpaca, cashmere, organic wool and all-natural Talalay latex.
“What better way to celebrate our 120th year in business than to give McRoskey Mattress a new look for a new era in our history,” said Robin Azevedo, third-generation brand ambassador of the McRoskey Mattress Co. and local community advocate. “This was a big decision for us to make, but we could not be more thrilled to reveal the new collection to our customers in the Bay Area.”
“Along with a new, stylish look for this iconic brand, we wanted to embrace the San Francisco culture by using all-natural, luxury components from materials to packaging,” said Rion Morgenstern, president and CEO of Pleasant Mattress, who acquired the McRoskey brand and manufacturing last year. “McRoskey is a San Francisco original and we continue to put that originality at the center of our efforts in this and future collections.”
As part of the relaunch, McRoskey has committed to donate 200 mattresses to Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) of San Francisco over the next 12 months to help transition families into permanent housing.
