Troy, NC-based Capel Rugs added two new stylish rug collections to its popular Williamsburg at Home line during the High Point Market, along with a variety of other new import and domestically made designs.
The first new collection is Arcadia, an oversized floral rendering of a timeless 18th-century design from the archives of Colonial Williamsburg, a longtime Capel Rugs licensee. Alluding to the region of Greece imagined to be a mythical paradise, the pattern features the copper-plate printed look fashionable in France and England in the 1760s. Hand tufted in India of 100% wool, Arcadia is offered in three colorways -- sage, indigo and stone -- and three standard sizes -- 5' x 8', 8' x 10'' and 9' x 12'. A 5' x 8' model and may retail for under $549.
Also new to the line is Goa Garden. This artistic interpretation of an intricate pattern recalls the beauty of gardens in Goa, India. The hand-loomed construction with double-back treatment features hints of arabesques and paisley shapes, echoing designs on textiles exported by the British East India Company to England, and from there to British colonies, during the 18th century. Constructed of 60% viscose and 40% wool with a high-low pile texture, Goa Garden is available in three colorways -- pewter, blue slate and sapphire. Four sizes are offered -- 3' x 5', 5' x 8', 8' x' 10' and 9' x 12', with a 5' x 8' model retailing for under $1,149.
"Williamsburg at Home's unique 'Trend Meets Tradition' approach shines brightly in both of these new collections," said Cameron Capel, president, sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. "These fashionable rugs pay homage to the past with updated patterns and textures that are perfect for today's relaxed lifestyles."
