Allen and James Design Firm Participates in Educational and Design Events During High Point Fall Market

High Point-based design firm Allen and James will participate in multiple educational and design events occurring during the Fall 2019 High Point Market. The international design firm will kick off the Market as one of the local designers taking part in the High Point Designer’s Showhouse. Stephanie James and Patti Allen, co-owners of Allen and James Designs will also collaborate with exhibitors, associations and trade media on educational events during the market.

“We are excited to have been asked to participate in the excitement that is occurring throughout the market this month,” said Stephanie James. “The events are all taking place in conjunction with wonderful industry partners and are a part of our firm’s initiative to promote and give back to this wonderful industry.”

Allen and James Designs’ passion for design will be on display in the Junior League’ High Point Show house kitchen located in the Johnson Street Historic District. Opening during market, the kitchen was pulled together by designer Emily Chandler of Allen and James Designs. Inspired by the history of the home and a New Traditional design style, the cabinetry, countertops, fixtures and finishes were curated in keeping with the clean yet classic elements of the room at the heart of the home.

The expertise of the Allen and James Designs team also will be on display during the Market at the Tomlinson showroom at 525 N Wrenn Street. The 15,000 square foot showroom of Tomlinson companies will debut for its client visitors a makeover by Allen and James including curated fabrics, accessories, and furnishing designs.

Educational events for the Allen and James principles will begin on the first day of Market. They will speak on “Designer Secrets To the Outdoor Room” in the showroom of outdoor living manufacturer, Watermark Living. The discussion is open to all attending the market. Numerous designer secrets will be shared providing insight and trends for designing outdoor spaces. The Lunch ‘N Learn will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 205 S. Main Street in High Point.

The design team will also be guests of the Steelyard “Airstream Streams” on the topic of designers and retail operations. This streaming event will take place in an iconic Airstream at the corner of Commerce and Wrenn. The content will be used during and following Market on the Steelyard site.  Other guests include Ben & Erin Napier from HGTV and additional industry notables.

To round out the educational events, on Tuesday Oct. 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Point, James will be one of the expert panelists on the topic of Textiles and the widely diverse and changing landscape of distribution. The event held in partnership with the International Textile Alliance (ITA) will be moderated by industry journalist, Warren Shoulberg.
