Raffel Systems Achieves Energy Certification for Tranquilcharge Technology

Germantown, Wis.-based Raffel Systems, a producer of electronic components for motion upholstery and bedding, has announced its Tranquilcharge Technology has been recognized with an E-Efficiency Certification for exceeding standards of efficient energy use.

Tranquilcharge Technology, introduced at the summer 2018 Las Vegas Market and now standard on all of Raffel Systems’ switches that include USB, only consumes power when a device is plugged into a USB port. The new technology, which can extend battery life by as much as a year over competitors’ technologies, saves money by reducing energy consumption.  Raffel submitted the technology to controlled testing by an outside laboratory; tests showed that Tranquilcharge exceeded standards by drawing no energy when not in use.

The energy efficient technology can be easily integrated into any product that includes a USB port. Raffel Systems is known for its customizable cup holders, used in both motion furniture for the home and in cinema seating, and included in everything from lighting, motion and temperature controls, and USB chargers. Raffel System USB ports are also integrated into bedding and casegoods.

“Our Tranquilcharge Technology is another example of the kind of innovation Raffel is known for,” said Rich Weeden, president of Raffel Systems. “Our customers come to us with their challenges and we come back with solutions. It’s gratifying to be recognized for our dedication to smart energy use with an E-Efficiency Certification.”
