Interior Define Taps Industry Veteran from Serena & Lily for Executive Team

Digitally native and vertically-integrated furniture brand, Interior Define (ID) has hired home decor industry veteran, Jill John, as the new chief customer officer. A strategic leader with over 20 years of experience in sales and business development, John will be charged with establishing the voice and visual identity of the brand, and continuing to build a genuine, unparalleled connection with the consumer.

“I’m excited to add an accomplished leader to our executive team at Interior Define as we chart the path to alter the home furnishings category,” says Interior Define CEO, Antonio Nieves. “Jill’s extensive knowledge cultivating amazing customer experiences and amplifying our brand’s voice is a critical component to accelerating the Interior Define mission of transforming how consumers will engage with our company in the future.”

Working in tandem with Nieves, John will carve out a distinct space for ID within the industry, refocusing on the brand’s hero product - the sofa - and introducing complementary categories that speak to consumer needs and shopping habits. She will oversee all marketing efforts to ensure that a consistent brand voice cascades across creative assets, through all sales channels and customer care touchpoints.

“Interior Define is revolutionizing the way people shop for furniture and I’m thrilled to join such an innovative team,” said John. “I believe that my experience lends itself to defining ID’s brand identity through storytelling around design, quality, and ease of purchase. My goal is to create meaningful experiences through unique connections across each touchpoint in the customer journey.”

Most recently, John served as senior vice president of customer experience & brand marketing at Serena & Lily where she helped drive a consistent brand voice across all marketing channels, focusing on retail expansion, unique customer experience, and strategic partnerships within the interior design community. Before that, she was at Williams-Sonoma, in the role of director of sales & business development, which afforded her the opportunity to drive new B2B revenue streams across both e-commerce and retail channels.
