Upholstery producer Norwalk Furniture will debut its Leo Variations Program at the upcoming High Point Market, adding to its extensive line of customizable upholstered furniture.
With over 2,000 options, the collection provides consumers with the ability to design their own custom ottomans with a selection of shape, size, upholstery treatments and legs, as well as a choice of more than 800 fabrics, 150 leathers and a dozen nail head options. The program aims to increase retailer ROI by offering thousands of items in a relatively small retail footprint.
“As the customization of nearly everything continues to grow in popularity with consumers, broadening our custom capabilities in the upholstered ottoman category is a natural extension of our product line,” said Dixon Bartlett, chief creative officer of Norwalk Furniture.
“Our retail partners will also benefit from the program, as we have designed a point of sale display to creatively merchandise the product options in a 32 square foot retail footprint, which helps them maximize their ROI in the collection,” Bartlett added.
The program includes four different shapes – round, oval, square and rectangular – each of which is available in four sizes ranging from 36- to 48-inches. Four different upholstery treatments can be tailored on the tops including plain, mitered with a button, square buttonless tufted and a traditional diamond button tufted version. The ottomans can be additionally customized with four different border trims – single welt, single welt with small nail head trim at the bottom, two rows of nail head trim and a welt less version that centers large nail heads between the welt line and the bottom of the piece.
Eight different leg options further customize the look, with a choice of styles ranging from cabriole to tapered to a traditional carved style with casters. Each piece is available in more than 800 fabrics and 150 leather options.
Demonstrating the various design options, along with examples of how each configuration can be ordered, the point of sale fixture will be on display in the Norwalk Furniture Showroom located at IHFC Main, 108. The company is offering retailers who commit to purchasing at least four ottomans for their retail sales floors the point of sale system free of charge.
The program will also be a key part of Norwalk’s recent nomination as a manufacturing finalist in the 31st annual ARTS Awards for the Accent Furniture category. The ARTS Awards were developed by the non-profit ART network and are produced by Dallas Market Center. The winners of the peer-nominated program are announced in January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market.
