Legacy Classic to Now Offer TV Frames as Standard in Bedroom Groups

Casegoods producer Legacy Classic has announced it will begin offering TV frames as standards in all bedroom groups at Fall High Point Market, due to the briskly selling new furniture item.

“If we compare the sales ratio of mirrors to dressers vs TV frames to dressers, the TV Frame-to-Dresser sales ratio is much stronger,” said Don Essenberg, president and CEO.  “Several years ago, consumers started moving TVs out of the bedroom because they were then housed with large armoires and media dressers. Now with flatscreens, Smart TVs and streaming media, it is easier and takes less space to have the TVs return to the bedroom. The TV Frames create a more finished, soft, warm and less offensive look for the TV with no visible wires. If the TV is off, it almost looks like a mirror above the dresser.”

The rise of the master suite, including larger bathrooms and walk-in closets and dressing rooms has also been a factor. “My theory is that men aren’t adjusting their neckties and women aren’t putting on make-up with the mirror over the dresser as frequently,” said Essenberg. “Instead, that’s happening in the master bath or dressing closet. It’s almost making the mirror over the dresser obsolete.”

The TV frames have an average retail price point of $399, which is about $50 more than a typical mirror. Legacy Classic’s TV frames coordinate in finish, style and dimensions with the bedroom groups they are included with, as they are designed to work cohesively with the rest of the bedroom.

Scaled to accommodate up to 55-inch TVs, mounting hardware is included, along with instructions for installation. The TV frames are pre-drilled to fit the mounting hardware, and the mount itself is based on universal mounting brackets/sizes. Either the consumer or the retailer may install and set up the piece with the TV, depending on where it is purchased and the retailer’s protocol.
