High-end furniture supplier Alden Parkes has announced its introductions for the upcoming October High Point Market, debuting four pieces finished in black—and a fifth in contrasting Glacial White.
“It’s a well-known design rule that every room should have a touch of black,” said Lynne McArdle, president. “At this market, we’re reinventing black and its deep-toned cousins with the addition of sophisticated gold accents.”
The three-door Tilden Sideboard borrows its mid-century silhouette from Alden Parkes’ popular Tiffany Sideboard and is accented with gold leaf trim and gold-toned sunburst hardware. The new sideboard, which has three cabinets with drawers and adjustable shelves, is available in a rich Kona finish or lighter Amaretto.
Similarly, the trim eight-drawer Oscar Dresser and two-drawer Oscar Nightstand are framed in ogee molding and accented with burnished brass ring hardware. The richly grained wood on the dresser and nightstand is finished in translucent Charcoal to emphasize the unique natural patterning on each piece. The nightstand has the versatility of an open storage space between the two drawers.
Finished in Black Walnut, the Beverly Dresser offers a stylized take on the traditional dresser-on-stand with drawers faced in swirl walnut, framed in neatly mitered molding and accented with sculpted square drawer pulls in burnished gold leaf.
Finally, the neo-classical lattice back Darden Dining Chair provides a stylish counterpoint to all the black with a clean Glacial White painted finish and a seat upholstered in Nuance Vanilla fabric.
Alden Parkes showroom is in the South Court of the 200 Hamilton Building.
