Norwalk Adds Dana Gibson Pop-up in High Point, First-Time Dealer Opportunity

Upholstery major Norwalk Furniture and Dana Gibson, a designer of furniture, textiles and home décor known for her vivid colors and bold graphic designs, will setup a pop-up shop inside the Norwalk Furniture showroom during the October High Point Market, Oct. 19-23.

Norwalk, who manufactures the upholstered furniture sold to Gibson’s design clients and through her Richmond, Va., design studio, is making her products available to its dealers for the first time – a lineup that includes benches, ottomans, accent chairs and the new Have A Seat dining chair, making its debut this fall.

The display will feature her signature bright blue-green color story and include an array of exclusive fabrics. “Dana’s fearless use of color fits perfectly with Norwalk’s design aesthetic, and we are excited about making her products available to our dealers,” said Caroline Hipple, president of Norwalk Furniture. “Her fabric designs are unlike anything else in the marketplace, and she always surprises us with her work. Her signature style adds modern – and sometimes even kitschy – touches to classic motifs, bringing something completely new and refreshing to the industry.”

The 300 square-foot pop-up shop will be accessorized with art, accent lamps, accent tables and giftware designed by Gibson. The designer will be in the Norwalk showroom, IHFC space M-108 for an evening reception on Friday, Oct. 18 and will visit the space periodically during the market. She also plans to maintain her personal showroom in the Salon area of Suites at Market Square, space G-7041.

In addition to the new Have A Seat dining chair, seating pieces in the shop will include Gibson’s popular Rosinda Armchair, which has classic traditional styling and a round seat back, and the Josie club chair, which features English country styling and wood spindle legs.

Gibson initially made her mark in the design community in the early 1990s when she debuted a line of hand-sculpted porcelain that was eventually carried by high-end department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. She has expanded her collection to include a wide range of furniture, home décor and exclusive fabrics.
