Cancer Touches Every Life – Part 2

This afternoon we arrived in Sturbridge and our small group of about 15 is just a drop in a sea of thousands of riders.  After 17 days of riding about 1150 miles and climbing almost 50,000’ we are ready for an enormous fundraising endeavor that will raise $60,000,000 for ending the scourge of cancer.  So many vaguely familiar faces and old friends and new friends all excited about the next 2 days of riding.  The challenge for me won’t be physical- I am more than prepared for the finale.  It will be about safety and inexperienced riders.  I will miss those simple days with a dozen or so friends pedaling along the Maine and New Hampshire  coast, and the rolling hills along the Merrimack river, and rugged White Mountains.   But the next 2 days promise great riding, inspiration and hope.   The crowds in Massachusetts are incredible as they thank and cheer the riders on.
