Selamat Introduces Morris & Co. X Selamat Collection

Calif.-based furniture and home décor producer Selamat has partnered with iconic British design company Morris & Co. to introduce the next chapter of William Morris’ legacy of artisanal home furnishings.
Founded in 1861, William Morris began his home furnishings company with hand block-printed wall- papers, heavily inspired by the nature surrounding his home in the English countryside. Regarded by some as the greatest designer and one of the most outstanding figures of the Arts and Crafts Movement, Morris was a poet, artist, philosopher, typographer and political theorist.
Over the next 158 years, Morris & Co. has stayed true to the founder’s core values of artisanal design and sustainable practices and has garnered a reputation as a prolific British heritage brand.
Each product in the collection is hand-crafted and draws from the Morris & Co. design archive: highlights include Strawberry Thief, the internationally-recognized print wrapped on the Steamer collection, an oversized rattan and brass motif applied to the Poppy armoire, and the modern interpretation of Morris’ Sussex chair, reimagined as the Kelmscott dining collection.
The range includes over 40 furniture, lighting, wall decor and decorative accessory styles inspired by 20 Morris & Co. designs, launching to retail this Fall 2019.
