Morris Furniture, Mattress Donations Aid Local Tornado Victims

Ohio-based Morris Furniture Company  has announced its donation of nearly 200 mattresses to St. Vincent de Paul Society in Dayton, Ohio, aiding victims of the Memorial Day tornadoes in the Miami Valley area.

Morris delivered 3 truckloads of mattresses and bedding accessories to St. Vincent de Paul on Monday, July 15.

“We know that many families have lost everything they own. Since the St. Vincent De Paul has years of experience helping families rebuild their lives after weather related calamities, we will leave it to the experts at this renowned organization to distribute these mattresses and bedding accessories,” said Larry Klaben, president and CEO, Morris Furniture.

“We are distributing furniture vouchers,” explained Laurie Cross, the manager of volunteer services at St. Vincent de Paul. “Once they get that voucher, they are able to come to our store and choose the mattress they need.”

Numerous social service agencies, first responders and volunteers have come together to help those in need. Morris Furniture Company salutes all the members of the communities it serves who have taken action to help those impacted by the powerful storms.
