Norwalk to Host “Lightening the Load” Event at Vegas Market

Upholstery producer Norwalk Furniture will be hosting an educational event at the upcoming Las Vegas Market that will focus on the synergies between designers, retailers and manufacturers. The panel discussion, “Lightening the Load,” will include discussions on how designers and retailers can work together, in tandem with manufacturers, on interior design projects.

The event is set to take place in Norwalk’s showroom located in Building A, space A225 Monday, July 29 at 4 p.m.

The expert panel features Wendy Glaister, an ASID Allied interior designer with more than 10 years of industry experience; Dann Foley, a seasoned design professional whose work is influenced by his global clientele and extensive travel; Carrie Arnold, third generation owner of Modesto, CA.-based Phillips Lighting & Home; Emma Grover, owner and designer at Suite 52 Living, a boutique retail and design resource based in Modesto, CA., and Caroline Hipple, president of Norwalk Furniture.

“As a designer-friendly manufacturer, we work directly with both retailers and interior designers in our daily business,” said Caroline Hipple, president of Norwalk Furniture. “This panel aims to share best practices for making these relationships work in the best interest of the end consumer. Each vendor, whether it’s a retailer, designer or manufacturer, plays a key role in the design process and when each can focus on what they do best, we all benefit from the additional sales.”

“Creating synergies between these three-way partnerships where designers can focus on design and retailers can help with the procurement and logistics of the manufacturers’ products can be tricky, but our expert panel has some tried and true tips to share that can benefit the industry as a whole,” Hipple continued.

The panel discussion is free and open to all interior designers, retailers, and other Market attendees with a valid July Market pass. Light hors d'oeuvres and beverages will also be available during and after the event.
