La-Z-Boy Seattle Partners with Doug Baldwin to Build Community Center

La-Z-Boy Galleries of Seattle has announced its donation of a portion of all sales to help build the Family First Community Center in Renton, Washington.

The community center is the vision of Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin who has lived and worked in the area for nearly a decade. In partnering with La-Z-Boy Seattle, the community center will benefit local children to support learning, promote exercise, and interact with peers outside of school in a productive environment.

"Growing up in Pensacola, Florida, I spent a lot of time at the local community center after school, which allowed me to grow into the man I am today," said Baldwin. A community center in the area he now resides provides him with a way to give back to local children for decades to come.

La-Z-Boy Seattle area stores will donate a portion of all sales in the furniture galleries located in Tukwila, Lynnwood, Tacoma, Silverdale, Issaquah, and Lacey through this "Furnish Your Home, Help Fund a Dream" initiative. Each of these stores is currently owned by Chris Washko, who has teamed up with the Seattle Seahawks through his La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in the past for philanthropic causes, including a donation to Ben's Fund through FEAT (Families for Effective Autism Treatment).

Preceding this announcement for the Family First Community Center, Baldwin joined Chris Washko and the rest of the La-Z-Boy Seattle team at the ribbon cutting for La-Z-Boy Issaquah. The Issaquah furniture gallery opened in April of 2018, and was followed by Washko's next location in Lacey, Washington.

On their involvement in the community center, Washko noted, "We're honored to have our La-Z-Boy stores and our entire organization be part of Doug's project. We are really looking forward to seeing how the community center will make a positive impact in the Puget Sound area."
