Sprintz Furniture’s Charles Sprintz Dies at 85

Charles Sprintz, co-founder of Sprintz Furniture in Tennessee passed away on May 20, 2019. He was 85.

Sprintz grew up in Miami Beach, Fla., and graduated from the University of Miami. He moved his family to Nashville in the 1960’s and spent 19 years working at Morris Furniture, owned by his father-in-law, Aaron Morris. In 1981 Charles and his wife Alyse opened Sprintz Furniture.

Sprintz will be remembered for his dedication to causes he cared about including the Jewish Federation of Nashville, The American Diabetes Association and Akiva School. His love for family and friends and for the business he started with his wife are ingrained in his legacy. He had great energy and passion for the retail furniture business.

Sprintz is survived by his wife of 61 years: three children, Wendy, Bruce and Tami as well as five grandchildren, a sister and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service was held on May 22, 2019. Memorial contributions may be made to: Alive Hospice, The Jewish Federation of Nashville or the Temple Nashville.
