Furniture Rep Eric James Steinhafel Dies at 60

Eric James Steinhafel, longtime furniture manufacturer’s representative, passed away on Tuesday, March 19 at age 60.
Born on March 1, 1959, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Jim and Jean Steinhafel, Eric is brother to Gary and Ellen, cousin to Mark, and second-cousin to Andrew Steinhafel - owners of Steinhafels Furniture.
Steinhafel started his career as a salesman at Wickes Furniture in Chicago. He spent the last 37 years as a furniture manufacturer’s representative in Wisconsin for companies such as PeopLoungers, Jackson-Catnapper, Overnight Sofa, and Classic Home.
Elaine Haskey, Steinhafels upholstery buyer for the past 33 years recalls, “Eric loved the business, and will be remembered for his big personality, sense of humor, and love of life!”
Steinhafel was an avid fisherman, cook, hunter, and sports enthusiast. He will always be loved, and greatly missed. He is also survived by his loving son James Steinhafel, mother Jean, sisters Linda Stark and Lisa Kassuba, brother Gregg Steinhafel, and many nieces and nephews.
