FurnitureDealer.Net, a provider of websites and omnichannel services for independent home furnishings retailers, has upgraded its ecommerce website platform to make online purchases easier with a mobile-first approach.
“Furniture shoppers increasingly use mobile devices when visiting retailer websites. Smartphones and tablets now account for nearly two-thirds of all visits to retailer websites on our network,” said Alex Kirsch, vice president of client solutions. “Mobile-first means ensuring shoppers who visit our clients’ websites using mobile devices have a seamless, hassle-free user experience.”
Over half of retailer websites on the company’s platform include a shopping cart. FurnitureDealer.Net’s new mobile-first shopping cart makes it easier and faster to complete an online purchase by reducing the number of checkout steps from seven to two.
“The new shopping cart design is the result of extensive research and analysis of consumer behavior both on our network of retailer websites and in the broader internet retail landscape. The checkout process is only one part of the customer journey, but we designed ours with the entire journey in mind. The result is a powerful shopping tool and more intuitive customer experience,” said Kirsch.
The new shopping cart has a sleek, simplified look and feel. There are clear calls to action at each step of the checkout process to give shoppers confidence, trust and peace of mind.
According to Kirsch, “Payment options are completely integrated, including the ability for customers to scan their credit card using the camera on their mobile device, eliminating the hassle of keying in their payment information.” The upgrade also includes a deep memory for customer information to encourage and enable faster and more frequent repeat purchases.
In Beta testing, a Top 100 furniture retailer saw fewer cart abandonments, a higher ecommerce conversion rate and an increase in online sales compared to their former shopping cart.
FurnitureDealer.Net is making the upgraded new shopping cart available to all retailer clients on its premium website platform at no cost. “We’re committed to ensuring our clients remain on the forefront of rapidly evolving technology. So we made a significant investment to upgrade our ecommerce functionality at no cost to our clients,” said Kirsch.
