Star Furniture Promotes Jennifer Martin to Upholstery Buyer

In this position, Martin will be responsible for buying both stationary and motion upholstery, reporting to Sharon Gjertsen, vp of merchandising.

Martin started her career at the company 11 years ago as a buyer’s assistant and quickly moved into a role as buyer for occasional, home office, entertainment and casual dining. This past year she became very involved in the seating categories in the role of senior upholstery administrator.

“Jennifer’s involvement in the upholstery categories this past year has been extremely important. I love her passion and drive and am thrilled that she is our new upholstery buyer,” said Gjertsen.

Martin has been in the furniture industry her entire career. Prior to joining Star she worked on the manufacturing side of the industry at LaneVenture.
